Vintage Houbigant 1930s Compact Hexagon Powder Rouge Mirror Compact Original BoxThis is a gorgeous vintage 1930's hexagon Houbigant powder, rouge and mirror compact in the original box. The lid has a beautiful painted floral basket on what appears to be lacquered wood, and finished off with brass trim. It opens to double compartments, one for powder and the other under the flip up mirror is for rouge, there is a slight amount of the original powder and rouge remaining. The original floral basket embroidered powder puff remains,

The compact is hallmarked at the clasp with "Djer Kiss"

but it does close

The opera glasses measure 2 1/8 inches in height when closed and 2 3/4 inches high when fully extended

This is a fabulous collectors piece that will certainly enhance any compact collection

It also has a bird hallmark on the inside frame near the clasp

but it is polished and carved

The interior still has the original lining that is in excellent condition

and the top circle opens to reveal the powder and rouge compact

only a few very tiny pin point spots of plating wear

It also has two lovely handmade blue stitched and iridescent beaded powder puffs

The exterior of the frame has a lovely engraved ornate design on the front of the purse

A lovely well cared for purse to use for a special occasion
